We left Porter IN @ 8 AM, and drove though Chicago. We passed by the Chicago White Sox stadium, and did not encounter much traffic at all. It was another long day of travel, about 625 miles. We watched the movie CARS on the way, to get everyone prepared to travel the 'Route 66-like' roads through the US. One line from the movie was "Cars didn't travel on Route 66 to make time, but to have a great time." It was a good message for Peter, Jordan and EmmaLee. They've been great in the car, reading, doing workbooks, some games. We arrived at a campsite in Pipestone MN at about 7 PM, which is about 10 miles from the South Dakota border. We went swimming in their pool and had a campfire. From our campsite, we were able to see ~15 miles around the area, and watched 4 to 5 different locations of fireworks in the distance.
If you have any thoughts or memories which you would like to share with us along the way, or recommend something for us to see, please comment back in this blog. Thank you for traveling along with us!
God Bless You All!!!
Tim, Donna, Peter, Jordan & EmmaLee
