Day 11 - Salt Lake City

Today was a full day at Salt Lake City. We slept in a bit, then headed for the main city portion. We got an oil change at Jiffy Lube, as we had just surpassed 3,100 miles so far. We drove by the Mormon campus with it's many buildings and temples. We then went to a small park to have a picnic lunch. After lunch, we went to what was called Discovery Gateway, which is a small version of the Strong Museum and some science experiments. It was located in the heart of Salt Lake City, in the Gateway Mall. The kids had a great time. When we left, there was a Game Stop store near, where Peter and Jordan wanted to see if there were any Gameboy games. Jordan purchased his own Gameboy for $20, and Peter bought Backyard Football.

Then, we traveled to Salt Lake, and went swimming for a short time. Tim went in and showed how without trying, he would just float. It was very salty, and many, many, many small flying insects. We had fun 'hearding' the insects, as when you walked to them, they would start to fly away all together along the ground. It would be like if you had a blower, blowing sand on a driveway. It was incredible the amount of these insects. We showered, and headed back to the campsite for more swimming and showers. Nice low key day, but once again, great weather and lots of family fun. Did we say before how blessed we are? Well, we are greatly blessed!!!

Thank you for traveling along with us!
